Going Crazy With Google's Chrome Music Lab, Toco Band, & Cantata Learning For Music In Our Schools Month!

As we celebrate Music In Our Schools Month (MIOSM), National Association for Music Education's annual celebration during the month of March, there are many ways that we can get music educators, students, teacher librarians, and communities from around the country engaged in celebrating the benefits of wonderful music education programs in schools and homes.

There are also ways that all educators and families can include music in the lives of our children everyday.
We have books like those from Cantata Learning that pair stories with wonderful songs....
and apps like Toco Band, which lets children create with a band to create their own sounds and songs.

These books, apps, websites, and other resources get them excited about singing, dancing, and moving while instilling a love of music for life.
One of the websites that I just love is called Chrome Music Lab from Google.  It is one of their amazing Chrome Experiments.
Chrome Music Lab was created for Music In Our Schools Month.  Google wanted to make learning music more accessible to everyone by using technology that is open to everyone on the web.

It is a collection of experiments that lets anyone, at any age, explore how music works.

And you can use each one to create music of your own.

You can see all 12 of the Chrome Music Labs below.  They include...
We had so much fun playing with these at home and creating our very own music.
We even turned on Boom, Boom, Ain't It Great To Be Crazy from Cantata.

We sang, danced, read, and created our own rhythms, harmonics, piano rolls, and melodies with Chrome Music Lab.

And it sure was fun....and a little crazy too!
